In Nara, the gods and the Buddha stand side by side.
Pass through the torii gate of Kasuga Grand Shrine, and the pagoda of Kofukuji rises into the sky just beyond. Shinto and Buddhism — each with its own teachings — have coexisted peacefully on this land for over a thousand years.
"Which one is right?" In Nara, that question has no meaning. The gods of Mount Kasuga and the Buddha of Kofukuji each hold their own truth, yet never deny the other. To this day, they watch over this city in quiet harmony.
In this world, there is no single "right answer" that applies to everyone.
There are as many "right answers" as there are people.
The same can be said of "justice."
Therefore, denying others and insisting on your own "right answer" or "justice" is simply nonsense.
Respect the "right answers" and "justice" of others. Do that, and this world will change — dramatically, for the better.
The city of Nara has been proving this for a thousand years.
